Carolina’ s work investigates precarious, fluid, and ecological histories through found objects. She considers these objects artifacts within a world of industrial human rationalization, whose stories and systemic contexts she aims to creatively play with and reveal. She intervenes through support, by giving life to objects of destruction. Her work is informed by a humanities background and scholarly focus on literary criticism and critical theory. She considers her experiences of living abroad and on a sailboat, of having lived in seven cities in various countries (in the West and in the East), as much as her deeply felt connections to the land, water, air and mountains around the Salish Sea an essential part of her life and work. C’s art employs a variety of media, from drawing to sculpture to painting to video works to walking.
